Isaac is 1!

We're pretty much settled in the new house and it feels like home. Isaac didn't have any trouble adjusting and I actually think he prefers it here because there are more places for him to play.

On Isaac's first birthday, we went to Red Robin for dinner where they put balloons around his head and sang their weird song. We were worried he would be scared of it but he didn't seem phased at all. They gave him his own little sundae but David ate most of it. :) Unfortunately, we didn't bring the camera! We had the family over for his first party the next day and he loved his cake! He dug in with both hands but stuck mostly to the icing. It's almost troubling how much he liked it.

One year pictures was another fun adventure. He was so awful, after less than two minutes, we were ready to give up like last time. Thankfully, the staff was persistent and we got some cute shots. We are so glad we won't be doing that for another year! Maybe he'll grow out of it by then. Wishful thinking.

The last week has been challenging with David and I splitting shifts taking Isaac to the doctor and staying home with him. He was pulling at his ears last weekend so we took him to the doctor on Monday - no ear infection but he did have pink eye. On Wednesday, he got a fever but didn't really act differently (crying/whining/screaming are frequent, normal parts of his day). The fever hadn't gone away by Friday morning and he started messing with his ears again so he went back to the doctor. Still no ear infection but since he had a fever so long without a cause, they did some lab work. It came back as viral so there's nothing we can do - he should gradually get better.

We did have a little fun today! I've been wanting to go to an apple orchard and even though it was very wet, we went to the Weston Red Barn Farm for some picking. We got a peck of apples and a pumpkin for each of us. :) I already made two pies but something very funky happened with the crust so I guess I'll just have to keep trying!

Next weekend, we're planning on going to the zoo and the weekend after that is Worlds of Fun so hopefully the weather cooperates.

Those pictures are so great! I love autumn, I totally want to go to Weston now! I just couldn't muster enough energy to do it yesterday in the rain. :) heehee. Looks like it wasn't so bad, though!!
